The tale of A Romantic !!

When I was little, my mother used to read me a bed time story… A fairy tale of how a prince charming came riding on the horse and took the girl away.  Night after night I used to hear the same story, secretly imagining that one day; my handsome prince will also take me away to live happily ever after.
I think God has programmed females to be romantic. ”. And, I am no different. …. In school, I had these crazy Infatuations. The guy who helped me with the assignments, the one who gave me the notes when I reached late for the class, the cute friend with the dimples, the handsome classmate that I haven’t ever spoken to were all part of my silly hallucinations. I watched Hindi romantic movies and I believed in them. I believed Rahul when he said “Pyaar dosti hai”. I believed Pooja when she said “Kahin na kahi, koi na koi mere liye banaya gaya hai…. Aur kabhi na kabhi main usse zaroor milungi”. I believed in love…. I wanted to fall in love!!!!

I watched English movies and I dreamed… I hoped…. I imagined my soul mate…..I dreamt of the perfect date… brunch at the upper deck of a yacht, a romantic movie, a private ballroom dance, moonlight dinner by the sea , romantic chariot ride and the proposal- “You make me happier than I ever thought I could be. And if you’ll let me, I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel the same way. Will you marry me?” I imagined walking down the aisle in the most beautiful white trousseau with my father, exchanging vows of unconditional love with my soul mate and heading off Just Married in the car with tins rolling down the road.

To be continued...

Shilpa's 30th Bday party - Ssshh.... It was a surprise !!!!

Me and my sister Shilpa, share the love for surprises. So recently, I threw a surprise party for her 30th birthday at 25th Dec,14. Here’s what happened!

24th Dec,10.30 pm - Her husband calls and informs that due to bad weather conditions, his flight has been diverted and thus he cannot make it to Jaipur for her b'day.
She curses the weather and becomes very upset.

25th Dec, 12 am – Her mobile is flooded with the message from all her friends and relatives–

Her reaction – “So many people are sending the same message.... What’s happening?”
She is happy and confused.... She has no idea what’s going on!

12:05 am – midnight celebrations at her mayka -

4pm -
Welcomed at sasural by the in-laws...

The box says “Surprise Inside”. She opens this box and finds her first clue.... clue to what? A treasure hunt!
She can’t believe it’s actually happening!

4:15pm – She starts the treasure hunt. The clues are everywhere – under the table, in the fridge, below the pillow!

5.15 pm- She reaches to the 30th clue –
Don’t give up!
You’re almost done!
Find your gift under the Christmas tree
And start un-wrapping the fun!

And what does she find at the decorated Christmas tree? Her 30 gifts and her entire family shouting “SURPRISE”

Is she happy? Yeah, she is delighted!!

5.30 pm – She opens some of the gifts....

She loves them!!

6:30 pm – The photo session
Angels wish Mumma a very happy bday and Merry Christmas !

Dress Code – Red!!

Yummy Food :)

The gentlemen posing between the Modi discussions...

Jiju (The love of the b'day girl's life) just makes in time for the family photo of Hum do humare do ;)

Super happy planner (that's me :P) after the party–

WHAT DO I SAY ABOUT HIM—THE MAN!!

I said to the sky,
You are so high,
The sky smiled, and said,
You are higher than me.
I said to the sun,
You shine so bright,
The sun smiled, and said,
You shine brighter than me.

I said to the sea,
You are so deep,
The sea smiled, and said,
You are deeper than me.

I said to man,
You are great,
With attitude, he said,
Yeah!!!  I know, I am the best!!

Economics and Math of LOVE !!!!

How many of you like economics? How many of you like math? How many of you think that love is beautiful? With this post, I aim to make some of the concepts of economics and maths clear to you, with reference to the almighty love!! But before we go to the jargons of these technical subjects, let’s know a little about love.
People say love is all about emotions, sharing, caring, being friends and being faithful to each other but believe me friends there is a lot more to it. There are rules, theories, equations, concepts and what not. Love could be
  • familial , i.e. for parents, siblings, friends etc. or
  • it could be romantic, our favorite, love for our beloved.
 But how does love happen?
  • It could be love at first sight,or
  • It may be that your friendship turns to love as they rightly quote, “love is friendship”or
  • You are in love and you don’t know coz it just happened.

I guess the concept of love  is so far clear to you.  So now lets get to the terms of economics of love -
  • Demand and supply – These are the quantity demanded by a consumer and supplied by producer respectively, at a given point of time and at a given price. So how does it relate to love? Lets take an example. Suppose .. just suppose I love Raj ! but Raj doesn’t love me!!  So there is supply of love from my side but no demand from his side. Poor me !!:(
  • Then comes the concept of Cost- It is the amount incurred by a producer to produce a certain level of output. So, what is the cost of love? The time, money and energy I spent to get to Raj becomes my cost.. and friends, there is some opportunity cost as well. The time and money that I spent on gifts and dates with raj could have been used for strenthening my carreer ,or probably  for some other guy!!!
  • Ordinal approach of consumer behaviour- Some economist has said that utility cannot be measured, but it can be ranked. The same happened with me. If Rahul loved me, but Raj loved me more than Rahul , so I ranked Raj above  rahul and chose him as he will give me more utility.
  • Market- There are different types of markets - Lets talk about monopoly.. in this type of market,  there is one seller and lot of buyers. Think of it, in a neighborhood, there is 1 handsome hunk with amazing personality and obviously, there are sooo many girls who tend to fall in love with this gift of god. So , here this guy becomes the single seller and the girls become the buyers.  Now, lets talk about another form of market, which is, perfect competition. In this type there are lot of buyers and there are lot of sellers. Let’s take the example of my college, with so many boyz and so many gals around ,  there is no competition as far as love is concerned. With so many options, choose any, take any or dump any.
I hope the concepts of economics are now clear to you.
Now as you would have understood how to relate the subject to love, lets quickly take up the cases for maths.
  • You must have seen a girl chucking out the petals of a flower  saying, he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not !! What is this ? This is actually a case of probability where the probability of being loved is ½ and being dumped is also ½.
  • When a poor guy loves a rich girl and wants to get married, what does the father of the girl say? He says “We belong to two mutually exclusive families with nothing in common . how dare you you even look at my daughter?”
  • In maths, 1+1 is always 2, but in love, its never like that . In love , 1+1 is either 3 , or 4, 5 and so on , and in case of our great grandfathers, 1+1 used to be cricket teams with many extras to it.
Friends, let me tell you that apart from economics and maths, love has some science connection too. See, there is some chemistry and definitely some biology involved. Since there is time constraint, I would not go into detail .

At the end , I would like to conclude by saying that, I truly understand, that eco and maths are very complex to understand , but if we relate it to love, the way I did... things would be really simple !!! So , the mantra is to learn the concepts  the way you want to, revise the probabilility of sailing or being dumped on the way … and I am sure you will have unbeatable conceptual clarity !!!

Cheers !

Discover Yourself !

Questions run across my mind
What will be the future and does life allow a rewind
Questions like who am I and why am I
What will happen to me after I die?
What do I want in life and what do I want to be
Will I start thinking about others or will it always be me
What makes me happy and what makes me sad
What is good and what is bad
These questions swim across my mind
The answers to which I want to find
I have learnt from the mistakes I did earlier
From now on, I am not going to fear
Come what may, I will be strong
Act wisely and choose right versus the wrong

I am one of the few people who are lucky and God blessed
Who are appreciated by teachers in school and at home are deeply caressed
I have had the support of my family in all walks of life
From here on, no matter what I will make all attempts to rise
Will carry a positive attitude and wear a b’ful smile
Be healthy and spread happiness across miles

All I have to tell everybody is that don’t waste your talents
Enjoy your life, no matter problems will stand as dents
Listen to what others say but do what your heart says
You know the goal and God will show you the ways
Don’t care a damn about the critics if you believe you are right,
Apologize when you are wrong but fight for your rights
One day people should look for you in google search & not just facebook
Believe in you, believe that you are more than just a look
The sad fact is that nobody is satisfied in his life
Somebody is unhappy with his boss, somebody is unhappy with his wife

I am not sure if there is anything called fate
But one thing is sure, you will never be loved if you tend to hate
Compare yourself to others not to feel inferior but to get motivated,
Don’t be sad on failures as one doesn’t win all the bets
Appreciate good things about others and don’t bitch about the bad,
Be serious only when required, otherwise enjoy being mad
Life is short, so live it to the fullest
Give your 100% and enjoy your zest
Love and respect your parents as they got you in here
Show them you love them too and how much you care
Respect yourself and be tension free
Love yourself for what you are and you will ever be !!
