2020.... So far, so goooood!!

Many people might want to forget 2020, but I definitely don't. At the age of 32 years, when I made myself believe that "abb zindagi mei kya hee naya hoga?", this year had so many firsts that I am honestly grateful for. (You'll soon know what I am talking about!)
The New Year kicked off pretty well with total dhamaal at back-to-back weddings. Although with the Corona scare in March, means of fun instantly turned around from chilling-out to staying-in playing housie on watsapp, making every possible delicacy at home, binge-watching netflix, incessant video calling and what not!!

Hones
tly, lockdown was a boon bringing in me the long-due motivation to start my youtube channel ”thoughts by Shruti“ to voice my views and share my poetry. It indeed felt amazing to be approached to be the content writer for JITO magazine and later becoming the executive member of the prestigious JITO Jaipur ladies wing. As it happened, one thing led to another and I was fortunate enough to be featured with Stagetime and get 6000+ views and much accolade for my poem "Maa".
Ready for my 1st court visit
In my endeavour to constantly learn and experience, going to court as a law student, teaching French online or handling all digital platforms of "SMARTYs and Little Wonders India", I have tried to ke
ep my hands full and enjoyed it all.
Celebration all the way!!

House-parties with friends have always been fun but this year I happened to experience the same magic with family. From midnight celebrations and heartfelt birthday wishes to surprise visit from my fa
mily, an indeed happy anniversary that went on from sumptuous breakfast to the impromptu dinner party, I truly felt being unconditionally loved.
I have to shyly admit that husband and I failed to practice social distancing and shared the craziest, biggest and happiest news of our lives…. As you must have guessed it right…..
Yes, We were Pregnant!!

Breaking the news &
Celebrating every milestone!!
During pandemic, doctor visits and medical examinations were scary, evening walks were confined to house‘s drive-way, outing only meant going to mother’s house and all food cravings had to be satiated with home-cooked food, I felt a little sad on losing out on pregnancy fun. It was only later I realised that it was a blessing in disguise.

Surprises all the way!!
Getting to spend quality and quantity time with husband,
getting advice and comfort from mummy, getting pampered by the mother-in-law, sincere efforts by everyone to make me feel special and happy, I can go on and on. Touch-wood, there has been so much to rejoice: seeing our baby inside for the first time, listening to its pounding heartbeat, fun pregnancy announcements, innumerable cakes, heartfelt surprise congratulatory hampers from Shilpa di, friends and family, exciting impromptu photo-shoots, celebrating 1st mother’s day, father’s day and each single month of the approaching parenthood.

Life‘s good but it sure has to have the blues otherwise it would be too good to be true. During my pregnancy, I too had my share of gloomy days and sleepless nights dominated by headaches, fatigue, body pain and swollen feet when I felt more like a patient than a happy pregnant woman. The simultaneous feeling of anxiety that my life is going to change forever and the excitement that a life is growing inside me is just inexplicable.

As i write this, I feel extremely gratified for immense love and support from each member of both my families, all my friends and well wishers. I can't thank you enough for all the inspiration and motivation.

Looking forward to December 2020 when our bundle of happiness is expected to arrive!!

Fingers crossed!

Shruti
